A healthy beginning to a healthy year

‘Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life’.

We are at the end of 2017. Another fruitful year has passed by. With a bagful of memories, we are all set to welcome 2018 with open arms and optimism.

As a common practice, people are ready with their list of ambitious resolutions.

Some promise to learn a musical instrument in a month, some plan on quitting smoking or alcohol, while others choose to take up a hobby. These resolutions sound fantastic on paper but fulfilling them with diligence and sincerity is something that Only a few achieve. In addition to this, people are drawn towards making bigger and better resolutions, ignoring the small and simple ones.

Joyce Meyer once rightly claimed, ‘I believe that the greatest gift you can give your family and the world is a healthy you’. So, this New Year, how about you add a few simple healthy resolutions to your list, and let the healthier you enjoy 2018 with good health!

  1. Water is your best friend; drink it

Drink adequate amount of water—this is a fact that has been established by many experts and health specialists. Stay constantly hydrated to maintain essential bodily functions and feel fresh. Ensure that you have a water bottle with you at all times, and consciously remind yourself to drink water at regular intervals. Slice fresh pieces of cucumber, oranges or lemons to add some flavour and nutrition to your water. Bring home Dr Aquaguard Water Purifiers and ensure that you and your family are drinking only healthy water.

  1. Life is too short to stress out

As you enter the New Year, make sure that your stressful days reduce in number. No matter how eventful your day was, if it is combined with stress, it takes a huge toll on your health. Chronic stress can result in insomnia, depression, obesity, heart disease, etc. To avoid this, start small sessions of meditation, spend some quality time with your friends and family & participate in relaxing activities (vacation, spa, etc.)

  1. Reboot your fitness regime

Losing weight is one of the most common resolutions! Regular workouts and gyming sessions are planned out well to achieve your magical number. However, as the excitement of the New Year fades away so does the enthusiasm of going to the gym. Hence, to combat this problem, set smaller goals for yourself. Chart out a jogging or an evening walk schedule that can be achieved with minimal efforts. Starting with this gives you a great head start to move on to physically exhausting exercises.

  1. Breathe in healthy air, breathe out worries

The alarming headlines, thick smog in the air and the sudden drop in air quality has left many people worried. Greenpeace’s report named Airpocalypse says, ‘As many as 1.2 billion deaths take place every year due to air pollution’. It’s high time we take a few steps towards analysing the quality of the air we breathe in and ensure that it’s healthy. This coming year, ensure the air you and your family breathe indoors is purified through Dr Aeroguard Air Purifiers. You can also bring home a few air purifying plants to circulate fresh air in your home.

  1. A tidy house leads to a tidy mind

Stressful schedules and endless errands lead to a cluttered home. A cluttered home can result in dust mites breeding in your bed and sofa & accumulated dirt in hard-to-reach surfaces. How about stepping into a new year with a de-cluttered and tidy home? Begin the new chapter of your year with a spotless and healthy home. Invest in the Euroclean range of vacuum cleaners that help to deep clean your home and make it a healthy living space.

A new year is a fresh start to a new life. So, a few simple steps towards a healthier life will definitely help you and your loved ones have a happy and healthy year ahead.

Steam Cleaning: The perfect way to deep clean your house

Everyone wishes their family enjoys a healthy lifestyle and cleanliness tops the list when trying to achieve that. The advancements in technology have facilitated multiple processes that help you attain optimum hygiene for your home. One such nifty process is ‘Steam Cleaning’.

Steam cleaning is deep cleaning without the use of any chemical cleaning agents. It is one of the most effective methods to remove embedded dust, dirt and bacteria.  It is a foolproof cleaning technique, where the steam penetrates surfaces and cleans them efficiently, making it one of the best ways to deal with stubborn and difficult stains.

An environment-friendly product, Steam cleaners clean, sanitise and disinfect using high-temperature dry steam vapour. Hot steam penetrates the pores of the materials or surfaces and cleans more thoroughly than traditional cleaning, that too without the use of chemicals. When the dry steam vapour comes in contact with the surface being treated it reaches to the depth to disinfect & sanitise it. The lack of chemicals in the cleaning process is a huge plus for those who are allergic to them or want to reduce the toxicity in their homes, especially if you have children or elderly at home.

Steam cleaning eliminates all the germs, viruses, bacteria, allergens, mould and mildew on the surface to be treated. The steam vapour is even known to kill dust mites that live in upholstery, bedding and carpets.

One of the first things you notice once you start using a steam cleaner is the absence of any potentially harmful chemical residue. The surfaces you clean are no longer doused with remnants from chemical-based cleaners. The chemical-based cleaners are harmful to the environment because they leave a layer of residue after cleaning, which tends to attract new dirt, making it necessary to clean more often. This results in more work and isn’t cost effective in the long run. Also, the more you clean with chemical-based cleaners the more damage is done to the surfaces being cleaned and the environment we live in.

Steam cleaning is not just restricted to upholstery and carpets. Here are a few surfaces you can efficiently clean with a steam cleaner –

  • Greasy Surfaces in the kitchen or bathrooms
  • Car interiors and wheels
  • Taps, wash basins, mirrors, etc
  • Tiled floors & walls, window cracks, door frames, shower screens and other hard to reach places
  • Tough stains in the kitchen on sinks, cabinets, chimney, etc
  • Curtains & upholstery, creases & odour from clothes
  • Jewellery

So it is evident that steam cleaning is a superior approach with benefits of deep cleaning, cost efficiency and is environment-friendly too. Make an informed choice and bring home the eco-friendly method of steam cleaning. Try it today.

Places People Forget To Clean At Home

India’s festive season has begun, and relatives, friends and close ones will soon be visiting your humble abode. Needless to say you’ll need to keep your home presentable and clean to help the guests feel more welcome and comfortable. We kick off this routine by cleaning the floor, walls, carpet, cupboards, frames, artefacts, sofas, beds and all the other easy-to-reach spots.Whether you like it or not, you will definitely have to clean all these spots and more. However, no matter how much you try and how careful you are, there might still be a few places that you may have missed.

Here’s a list of common places people forget to clean.

Window Rails:
Windows are the first things we clean almost every day, but somehow we tend to ignore the rails upon which our windows sit. These rails are difficult to clean due to their small openings and are generally avoided unless absolutely necessary. Since they are generally ignored, a lot of dirt collects here and is one place you must clean at all costs.

Under the bed:
Cleaning the sheets and dusting the mattress of the bed is something we do regularly. We also ensure to clean the frame of the bed and its sides. But how often have you cleaned the space under the bed? If you ever happen to move your bed you will realise how dirty it truly is. Ensure not to miss this spot while cleaning your home.

Ceiling corners:
If cleaning walls isn’t a task in itself, the ceiling corners add to the challenge. Since it is generally difficult to reach these corners without a ladder or tall stool, they are easily ignored. Soon, cobwebs and dirt begin to collect around these corners and make the situation worse.Make sure to get these cleaned or you might end up with a clean house with dirty corners.

Ceiling fans:

Ceiling fans are another difficult place to clean. They generally rake up a lot of dust which is collected on the fan blades, which end up dispersing dust all over the house. So the next time you’re cleaning, make sure to get this spot.

Above cupboards/wardrobes/shelves:

While cleaning our homes, we make sure not to leave out the furniture that holds our dear clothes. Most of us clean all sides of the cupboards/wardrobes but tend to ignore the top of the furniture. Needless to say, this is also one important spot you must not ignore.

Between the wall and furniture:

Another easy-to-miss spot is the space between a piece of furniture and the wall. Our hands and brooms barely fit in these spaces, but dust easily manages to find its way to these spots. Needless to say, we just prefer ignoring these spots instead of moving the furniture.

All the above-mentioned spots are easily overlooked when it comes to annual cleaning routines. However, one reason you might want to give all these spots a good hard look is the Euroclean Challenge. Take part in the challenge, clean your home and you could win a Euroclean WD X2 vacuum cleaner. So give your home a thorough cleaning and gift yourself a powerful vacuum cleaner this festive season.
